The choice of configurations are 6x4 and 8x4. The Eaton 18 speed manual transmission is standard with the Allison full automatic available as an option.
Safety is definitely a priority on the Western Star 4700SB with the inclusion of the WABCO braking system which mitigates risk by detecting when the truck is making a turn. It is claimed that this system assists in protecting the driver and protecting operator costs as well.

Construction is highlighted with strength yet light weight with ½” thick single channel frame rails which are custom drilled to suit individual application requirements.
Durability is enhanced with the all-steel, corrosion resistant engineering. The cabs are built from galvannealed steel, not aluminium or rivets, as your assurance of extra strength and safety. For additional strength extra gussets and reinforcements have been bonded, precision welded and dipped with a 17 stage erosion protection process. A superior paint finish completes the process.
