Scania Australia is continuing its expansion in 2025 with the opening of its 10th company-owned workshop and warehouse in Hope Valley, 34 km south of Perth, WA.
After having broken ground on the project back in March, the new sales and service outlet will aim to support the increasing sales of Scania trucks, buses, and engines in Western Australia.
The news comes after Scania managed to deliver a record 1383 vehicles in Australia in 2023.
Including a 3500 square metre regional parts warehouse, the Hope Valley facility is set to cater to key mining customers as well as the southern Perth metro area.
Situated on a 19,000 square metre block in a new industrial precinct, the workshop will feature a purpose-built pit for long vehicles, large crossovers, and improve ease of access by implementing hardstands.
As Scania continues its mission towards sustainability, the facility will be the company’s first EV-ready site, with infrastructure for BEV charging. Additionally, a purpose-built office environment will offer dedicated customer areas and amenities for the onsite team. Particular attention has been paid to how the site will handle waste and make use of solar power across the warehouse and workshop facilities.
On announcement of the new facility, Scania Australia managing director Manfred Streit highlighted the need for additional sales and service capacity to support customer uptime and business growth.
Scania dealer-director for Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory, Michael Berti, outlined the importance of expanding the company’s services to meet growing customer needs, including needs in mining and on-road vehicle sectors.
The new Hope Valley site is set to double the available warehousing space to support future developments in both internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicle areas.
The expansion is part of Scania’s strategy to maintain high levels of customer uptime and encourage the uptake of repair and maintenance contracts through advanced productivity and efficiency programs.
Customer uptime in the context of Scania Australia and similar businesses is crucial because it ensures that vehicles and equipment are reliably functioning, minimising interruptions, and maximising productivity.
