Hino Trucks Australia Goes Hybrid to Reduce Costs and Emissions
Hino Trucks Australia has recently announced that from July this year, it will be offering customers a range of hybrid electric trucks in the built to go collection. Mr Daniel Petrovski, Hino Australia’s Department Manager for Product Strategy, said that sales of the only hybrid electric truck in the light duty category had soared. He said this was due to increasing prices of fuel and customer focus on minimising environmental impacts.
The hybrid electric range from Hino Trucks is being expanded with a new Alloy Tray and TradeAce Built to Go models. The addition of these vehicles will provide a cost-effective, drive-away solution with operators potentially realising cost reductions from the first day of use.
Mr Petrovski said that the company’s hybrid electric models met Euro 6 standards and recent trials showed they delivered a 22% fuel reduction and CO2 emissions compared with an equivalent traditional diesel. In addition to this savings, Hino says that operators also enjoy reduced maintenance costs and increased brake life. With the 300 Series hybrids, according to Hino, annual maintenance costs can be reduced by up to 16%.
